I've owned this unit for a little over one year. Already replaced the capacitor. Now I need to replace the pressure switch. No one wants to work on these units because they are sold at big box stores. The warranty work is not supported by the factory. Just ask any tool supplier. If you are looking for a solid compressor to last more than 1 or 2 years look elsewhere. This is a price point only compressor.
Comment to Review by ToolBarn.com Staff: Just regarding your service issues... any dealer that doesn't work on a tool because it is also sold in big box stores isn't serious about customer service. If these are Hitachi authorized repair centers and it is warranty work, they are getting reimbursed for their time and parts (provided they fill out some basic paperwork). If they are an authorized repair center and they are giving Hitachi's customers a hard time about repairing the tools I would call Hitachi's customer service and let them know you feel this authorized service center is not representing them well.
Our service department does warranty work for Hitachi and many other brands, including a couple that are only sold by big box stores
