Its powerful 5.5 amp motor provides a smooth, even finish in the hardest wood, and it has a 1/6" maximum depth of cut. It makes 34,000 cuts per minute for an impressively fast removal rate, and it includes industry-standard, large, resharpenable, high-speed steel blades for straight edging or framing applications. The precision-machined front and back aluminum shoes ensure parallelism of cut while the kickstand allows you to rest the planer on the work surface without gouging the material. The precision machined groove in the front shoe allows for edge chamfering, plus the poly-V drive belt provides increased belt durability. It also has a dust adaptor that allows you to directly connect it to DEWALT vacuum cleaners.
