Crescent Slip Joint Pliers
Slip joint pliers are similar to combination pliers in that they can grasp, bend and turn wire or fasteners. Slip joint pliers are distinctive, however, in their adjustable design. These pliers have fulcrums, or pivot points, which can be moved into two different positions. This lets the pliers handle different sizes of fasteners without losing leverage. Straight slip joint pliers typically have two possible positions, while tongue-and-groove pliers have multiple possible positions.
