It's designed to support the mitered end of a board so that the sharp point of the miter is not damaged while cutting. It also allows the mitered end to be measured off of 2 points of contact instead of the toe of the miter, increasing accuracy. Incredibly versatile, it works with Kreg Flipstop and Solid Stop, and is perfect for picture framing and anyone who routinely cuts miters. It also has a slot machined into the attachment, enabling it to be attached to the Production Stop or Swing Stop with a simple carriage bolt.
