To update the first review on this product...Crooked receiver issue was resolved by DeWalt at thier factory repair center. Excellent service by DeWalt at this location swapped out receiver with a new one and wah lah. Where i work we have 4 others along with our 14.4v impacts. This tool is awesome..battery life is Excellent...Power is crazy good. If you have any issue contact DeWalt also the old style receiver works in this drill (had them swap an old style with same grippy slider) I also had one of the first off the assembly line and just like vehicles there are some hiccups with NEW design. So if you are interested in this drill you wont be disappointed...tried all other top industry brands/models but the all around package CAN NOT be beat. I use this to drill holes(chuck adaptor), short to long phillips screws, lags, tapcons....you name it I use this bad boy and doesnt skip a beat. LED light is nice..Batteries are light and hold charge very well..Can take a beating too. So yes all 5's well deserved and earned, even with hiccups at first.

I spent 350 and this brand new impact driver and the first time I used it the head is warp. Took it to a Dewalt factory service and they tried to fix it. It was still warp, they told me not to use long bits. Well if I use a long screw it flys everywhere. I also have an 14.4 impact with no issues, just wanted an upgrade but ended up downgrading back to my old one.

Has 3mm runout on 4" dewalt bit while applying pressure. It's a hula hoop driver.
Can't drive any delicate fasteners because the bit hops out of the head and runs across your work.

Tested 4 of these units and found a manufacturer defect, returned them all. Where I work we have the older model of impacts and not one issue. We had great hopes with this new model yet once you put a nut driver in you will see that the quick connect receiver is crooked or has a flaw. Swapped back and forth between new and old models and it wasn't the nut driver but the receiver itself. Hope Dewalt adresses this issue cause I will only buy dewalt. Anyone else notice this? Can't even use the chuck adaptor to drill holes..CROOKED
Note to review by ToolBarn.com Staff: I inspected our display model of this tool, and the quick connect is in alignment. That said most impacts do hold bits more loosely than a standard drill would. As they orbit there is often a noticable wobble in the bit when no pressure is being applied.
