Pros: No fumbling with safety switch, uses narrow crown staples
Cons: Staples won't slide easy, everything's too tight
Comments:
I am a residential framer in Iowa. I use this gun for housewrap and tar paper. I've used the Duofast model before, but went for the lower priced Fasco because I liked the price, and I could use the narrow crown staples and keep my narrow crown hammer tacker.
At first the gun wouldn't advance the staples, but I greased it with chain lube, and filed down some of the edges, and now some lines of staples slide through.
I noticed today the screw that adjusts the firing speed is broken off, and I've not used it that much or that rough, so I'm a little disappointed with the fragility. But, I'm used to fixing tools, so maybe that means I'm harder on it than you would be. Also, I'm running way too high PSI through it so I'm sure the seals will go out sooner.
I'd give it a 3 out of 5, but still way better than a slap stapeler, and better than the DuoFast because of the price. (The Duofast also has fragility issues.)
