Pros: It does a great job on 6" logs
Cons: The safety switch could be easier to use
Comments:
We are building a real log cabin and we needed a better job than what a chain saw would do so we ordered this Makita mega saw. The accuracy and finish cut is excellent. We can do a straight cut off and also cut the joint and we have a good fit and finish. It is heavy because it is a BIG saw but it does a great job. And Tool Barn was excellant to order from; they did everything that they said they would do. They were fast and effective, we will use Tool Barn again. We recommend them and give them High marks.

Pros: Powerful Motor, Light weight, Accuracy
Cons: Safety Switch
Comments:
This saw is defiantly a step up from the previous version. The double lock on the platen gives better accuracy and stability. The 15 amp motor has ample power to cut quickly at full depth. The design is well thought out and functional. The only drawback is the safety switch. I find it difficult to push the button, pull the trigger and hold the saw in position while preparing to pull back the blade guard to start the cut. A thumb slide would be safer in my opinion. Still an excellent value and a quality tool. A must have for any shop cutting large timbers.
