Pros: TOUGH TOUGH TOUGH
Cons: Batteries can't stand up to hammer drilling and driving serious screws as well as some lesser brands
Comments:
This drill has provided years of reliable service (except variable speed quit working and was $125 to replace). I use it daily and I demand quality from it's performance and it clearly delivers. The batteries aren't great but they aren't bad either; recall however, I am very demanding of my tool. The one handed chuck by itself is a feature that all of my drills in the future will have, no exceptions. Rechucking with one hand saves your hands as well as a lot of time if you switch bits frequently. You can get the chuck far tighter with one hand because the shaft locks and your one-hand-torque is compounded. My bits NEVER slip. I am buying a second one for two-handed gun slinging and, of note, ALL of my power tools are Makita, period. I have deep brand loyalty.
