Pros: Very light and compact
Cons: battery life is very poor
Comments:
I have had this driver for maybe six months. A month or two ago one of the batteries would not take a charge, so I replaced it, thinking that maybe I had done something wrong. Today the second original battery will not take a charge. I think I will try the 3.0 Ah battery hopefully it last. I can say that this driver works great when the batteries work properly.
Comment to review by ToolBarn.com Staff: We spoke to our Makita Sales Representative recently on the issue of the battery life problems on their compact lithium-ion tools and according to him the issue is as follows. There is an issue with the connection on certain chargers not meshing properly with the batteries. Makita is not 100% certain if the issue is in the battery or charger, but recommends going to an authorized service center and having them replace both the battery and charger under warranty if you are experiencing this issue. The life of the battery should be at least a couple of years if treated properly.
ToolBarn.com would add that we do not recommend leaving the battery in the charger when not in use, as that could shorten the lifespan of the batteries as well.
