Pros: Small size, high torque, high impact rate, comes with drill
Cons: Could use a third battery; no impact tools furnished so get your own set
Comments:
A Makita "stick" impact driver (7.2 vdc TD020D)purchased last year proved to be so incredibly capable at driving anything and everything, performing jobs that just couldn't have been done with anything else, that this set had to be the next choice to provide some extra torque and eliminate the need to carry a much larger Panasonic 3/8" cordless drill - which is very hard to tote up and down a ladder while balancing everything else.
This set does everything I hoped for and more! The driver does the job of a small but effective air impact driver, and driving 5/16" lag screws into 2x4" lumber was so easy I had to learn not to split the wood or over-torque the screws and strip the threads!
It's the hammering that does the work, and that keeps the bits, somehow, from torquing out of the screw slot with Phillips bits.
Having the drill-driver, too, makes this an incomparable delight to use. The tool box also holds a complete set of DeWalt 1/4" impact bits, including drills, and another small DeWalt set of driver bits only, just for spares.
A great choice for a holiday gift for guy or girl - my wife wants me to give her mine!

Pros: Lightweight, LED Light, Quick Charging, HIGH POWER
Cons: Not enough people know about them!
Comments:
I recently purchased this case after finding that I didn't need a full impact gun running 300 ft/lbs of torque. I'm now overly excited about this product and show everyone. The first thing they all say is, "The case alone makes it worth it!" But then they see the tools in action. My brother is an automotive tech and dropped his 18 Volt Snap-On impact to use my little 10.8V Makita. I have yet to get it back!!! Well worth the money!

Pros: torque, light, fast charge time
Cons: doesn't do windows
Comments:
OK, the last battery screwdriver / drill I bought used the 3.5V NiCad removable cells, so it's been a while and technology really has come a long way, but these things are great! I charged both batteries, then proceded to use the impact driver to bolt split rail slats onto 4x6 pressure treated posts, using 6 inch lag bolts. No pilot holes on the posts, just straight in. No sweat at all, so I got out the 3/8" rachet just to see how hard it was - took me 4 minutes just to screw one lag in by hand and it wasn't easy. After about 20 bolts, the battery died, so I swapped it out and put it on charge. Another 20 or so bolts and the 2nd battery died (about 30 minutes). To my pleasant surprise, the first battery had already recharged, and I finished the project with no downtime.
Both units weight almost nothing, are small and compact, have a very functional light, and as much torque as I need in a cordless. All that and a neat psuedo metallic carrying case, er box! If they last as long as most Makita products, this is a great deal.
