Pros: ratcheting straps and large foot pad
Cons: spring tension absorbed by foot rather that calf strap
Comments:
I tried a pair in the store, found them to be comfortable. I was disappointed when the stilts I brought home didn't have the three settings on the calf strap. They were fixed at one setting by a rivet. With the calf strap set where it is comforable for me I felt like my legs were going to fall outward. Spring setting is difficult get right. Too tight and I felt like my knees were being hyperextended. Too loose gave way too easily and I had to lean back with my upper body and felt very wobbly. Heel strap didn't seem to be long enough. Fastening system for the calf location is difficult to tighten evenly. Marshalltown advises not to overtighten, and in doing so they slipped downward when getting on and off. With some slight changes in terms of how the range of motion in controlled and calf strap height is fastened this might be a good product. However with the stilts as they are I would not recommend them, and in fact I am sending mine back. Walking on stilts will always be walking on stilts, but for $260 I expected a little more performance and comfort than they provided.
