This kit combines the functions of the Model 402 Porta-Nailer and the 404 Facing Nailer into one versatile flooring nailer kit with an extra shoe and shoe base for additional flooring applications.
The Porta-Nailer 403 Hammerhead is designed to properly seat the nail with one or several blows of the hammer. This tool offers the prawl and rachet assembly. This assembly insures that the ram does not return until the nail is properly seated. The Porta-Nailer drives the nail into the tongue and groove flooring at a 45° angle for wood floor / subfloor / joist construction.

Included tongue nailing shoes allow for 3/8" to 33/32" flooring
Holds 50% more nails than other floor nailers
Facing shoe eliminates hand-nailing of facing boards
Drives 13/16", 11/2" and 2" floor nails
Covers thickness range with same nail - no need to buy several sizes
Non-marring shoe base & rubber hammer cap

Pros: Worked well - when it worked
Cons: Problem with tool cropped up early

Comments:
After about 550 square feet of flooring installed, the nailer started "slipping" the cleats - the ram would "pop-up" after only driving the cleat in half-way or so.

Trying to resolve with mfr. We'll see how they stand-up for the tool.
