I bought this compressor looking for something powerful enough to run a framing gun but portable enough to load and unload daily. Another consideration, though secondary, was noise. I was willing to spend whatever to get the compressor to fit my needs. This compressor is not it.

To start with it is not as powerful as I had hoped, you certainly cant expect to nail off sheeting or do any production framing with it, but it is better than the PC pancake. It is also not as portable as I had hoped. It is just a little too heavy to be comfortable and the feet the stick out under the compressor and bang the heck out of your knees making walking with it a real pain. It is also extremely top-heavy and MUST be strapped in your truck to not tip over. Despite the advertised air filter/silencer it is not at all quiet. Maybe not as bad as the PC unit, but certainly not something you want to be in the same room with.

Then there came the surprises. First, it didn't come with a hose connection so it is not ready to use out of the box. Second, the rubber feet on it come fall off really easy and leave the compressor unbalanced, rattling and liable to ruin a floor. Third, my gauge covers have both fallen off in two months of light use. Fourth, they use the standard issue cheapo drain valve. But the real kicker, was when I plugged it in to bang out a deck and it turned on but didnt build pressure and started squealing like the oil had run out. An email to the company revealed that the stamped heads sometimes get the metal coin from the opening stuck inside and it was up to me to fix their defective product.

I bought Rolair because I thought it was a quality product that would deliver and last but this compressor is an absolute joke and I would not recommend it to anyone for any purpose.
