Quality Performance Features Price Value got this compressor for jobs that my smaller craftsman would be bogged down by. it worked, running nearly constantly for the first 3 days (due to a hole in the hose we needed). can't complain yet.

Quality Performance Features Price Value Mine is also doing the same thing described!! Unit runs for about 10-15 seconds then trips the "onboard reset button" on the compressor! then I have to stop what im doing and go back to the compressor and reset the tripped button, then comes back on for 10-15 seconds and does same thing all over again.....VERY FRUSTRATING TO SAY THE LEAST!!!!!! ( And yes Im running it on a 20amp circuit, plugged directly in the wall outlet with no extension cord.) Compressor is just a little over a year old!!!! so no returns!!! lasted just past the one year warranty!!! I do remodels and new construction for a living and cannot be without my compressor for even a day!!! now I will have to go out and buy a new one to keep working, while getting this POS sent out to see if it can be fixed........I find the poorly made quality of this compressor odd!!!! as I have a HITACHI framing gun nailer that I have used and abused for over 6 years with no issues!!!! which is why I bought this compressor in the first place.....Companies just don't make things with pride anymore like they used to......Its all about "make em cheep and sell em high" now.....best compressor I have ever owned (and I have owned many, many over my 25 years in constuction) was a "INDIGO" compressor...lasted me 8 years of everyday hard use....Hands down the best compressor I ever used and abused!!!! I would never recommend this unit to anyone........

Features Price Value Quality Performance I ordered this from as a reconditioned unit from Hitachi Recoditioned. BIG mistake.
The unit started ok and when I went to use it a week later the pump had froze up. Only had 15 days to return it, and had to pay shipping, plus a resocking fee, for a broken product.
This was going to be a replacement for a Sears hot-dog compressor that died after five years.
I have a MAC500 that is almost 10 years old. That is an oil-less unit, and and it still works great. Its been used for nailers, filling tires, and its powered impact wrenches on occations. Does it all.
My advice is to go with the new Makita MAC700.(Posted on 4/15/11)

Price Value Quality Performance Features I bought this compressor a year ago to keep around my shop. I have a very large floor mounted compressor and wanted this one for portable use. Mine has run great but requires a good extension cord ( at least 14ga.) to run it on. My only other complain is it is a bit heavy for portable use, but in all fairness I bought it because it was a oiled piston and cylinder design and not an airless. A bit heavy but should last a long time if I change the oil. So far, so good. J.D.

- Won't start Review by Baldy

Performance Features Price Value Quality Mine wont start either. If you switch in & off about 25 times it may run but won't restart on low pressure. I first thought it was temperature related but is 100 Degrees F. It is not the circuit problem described above it is the thermal breaker that keeps kicking out . I even tried it on a 4000 watt gen which develops about 37 amps and the same thong happens. Lowes will not take a return as it is 93 days. They don't want this POS either.

COMMENT TO THIS REVIEW
from ToolBarn.com Staff
A 13-amp compressor should be on the circuit alone whenever possible, as many household circuits have a 15-amp rating. In addition, the use of extension cords can increase the likelihood that you will cause a circuit to trip. This may or may not apply to the experiences of these reviewers.(Posted on 3/1/10)

Quality Performance Features Price Value Purchased this unit from lowe's and from day one had trouble getting it to run. Kept tripping the circuit breaker. Would have difficulty trying to start, then would pop the breaker before coming up to speed. Took to shop for repair, they kept overnight and reported no problem. Picked it up and tried using it again and got intermittent use out of it. After a few starts, it started popping the overload breaker again. Took back to repair shop, this time they reported it had a bad overload circuit. After a week waiting for part to come, was informed no spare parts were available. Company gave a new unit. Brought home and again this one started acting the same as the other one. Called Company and they authorized to return for full price.
