Flawed design torque limit in drill mode

Poor design torque limiter stays on in drill mode so drilling stops and you have to keep repressing the trigger. Fix this and it will be a great tool.

Good for what it's designed to do.

Cheapo chuck died. I bought "unused" with no receipt. Milwaukee gave me a chuck and screw anyway. Great service ! The new chuck is nicer than the original. Just buy one. When nothing else will do the impossible, reach for this.You can put screws where no other way will work.

Battery Building Essential Tool

I bought this specifically to do one job: to build large strings of batteries. The job involves doing (and undoing) the battery terminal bolts in areas with restricted headroom. The bolts are not done up that tight (12Nm). Even after 600 operations, the drill battery was still about half charged, as shown by the fuel level meter (a handy thing). Staggering performance for such a small battery. It would be nice to be able to replace the chuck with a fixed " or 3/8" square adaptor as the combination of chuck, adaptor and socket all adds up and (in my case) is still a bit long. I will be looking at removing the chuck and fabricating a special adaptor (unless Milwaukee bring out an option first) The LED illuminates the work area perfectly and the LED changes from white to red once the torque limit is reached. The torque setting seems to monitor the load current through the motor. If the motor is running at full chat, the momentum in the gear train means that the bolt ends up with a tighter torque than required. If run at low speed you get a repeatable torque setting and used like this it works well. The trigger is half way down the tool. If it was at the end of the tool (where the battery is, so difficult I know) you would not need to grip the tool so tightly. These are minor points, and I bought this tool after much internet research and I am still convinced that it is the best tool for the job and I am very happy with it.
