Not designed for every day use.

Handy tool. We recently changed our tools to M18. Great tools however the Cut out tool or drywall Router as it is better known is not designed for long use. For a few cuts here and there in a lightweight drywall works great for dense board it cant compete. The Dewalt Drywall tools lasted 100x longer than these have . We received them a few months ago. On the 4 man crew we are currently running we have 1 That is still operational. Everyone seems to start squealing rather soon vs the Dewalts and shortly I mean with in a few days to a couple weeks. The light would kick on when power switched to on and the head would attempt to move and then stop. Until it was bound so tightly it wouldnt ever move by hand. I would really like to see this issue be resolved. M18 is a great line but with 3 of the total 4 kits in under 6 months have one complete operational kit. Is very upsetting to say the least

Works great for awhile

I'm a drywall hanger and I bought my first router from milwaukee 3 years ago and so far I've gone thru 4 of them in the three years I've used them they work great for cutting out electrical boxes and windows and doors through out the day as long as you have a good size battery on it. I personally use a 5.0 and it lasts me half day constantly being used. I have used other routers and I prefer this one however my only problem with it is it seems to always mess up in the same way I start hearing a grinding inside like a bearing or something and then sooner or later I turn it on and the light comes on but the bit doesn't spin....It has happened to all 4 of the routers Ive gone through and I just wish it could be fixed . Overall I would recommend this for people who don't drywall all day evryday unless you're like me and are okay with getting a new one every 7-9 months

Not as good as was expecting.

Was shocked to see how loose the depth guide fits. It's got a lot of side to side play tha makes me really question how stable it it. Another thing that drives me nuts it the lack of a storage slot for the chuck wrench. Makes me really miss my old rotozip that stored the wrench and a few extra bits in the handle. The bits that came with it are low quality. Honestly I tossed them right out. I could tell they would hold up long.
