The good and the bad

These tools are amazing and the batteries last a long time . The tools are pro grade and very rugged, The batteries provide enormous power and capacity. (the good). The bad falls with the batteries in that #1 If the battery get's even the slightest bit if water on them, they just flat out fail! I had 2 nearly new batteries get some water splashed on them and instant failure. #2 The batteries are expensive $160.00-$180.00. 4 batteries & you could buy an entire 18 volt 4 piece set.. Of my original 6 batteries, 3 have died prematurely due to a splash of water (and I mean a splash) The remaining 3 have a very short run time even though the show a full charge. Unfortunately, My tools remain in fantastic working order even though they have been heavily and professionally used . I either pony up the cash for new batteries or I retire the tools as "working" paper weights...(the bad)

Battery life

Whats the recommendation for battery life in years When should they be replace We have these on our extrication equipment and never can get a straight forward answer

I would not buy this product again

With a charged battery my Milwaukee Saws-all works great. However, the battery life (Number of charges and calendar time) is very short. In addition, the self discharge rate is very high so you can't depend on a previously charged battery stored in your tool kit to be ready for service. To add insult, the cost of a replacement battery is unreasonably high.

Honestly the best, worked after under water

I put the hammer drill driver thru the paces. My insurance company bought me a brand new 28v set again to replace the one that sat under water. When I made it after nearly 24hrs underwater. I pulled the battery without running drill for another 3-4 day's. Not only did the drill, charger, and batteries work its still working 5 yrs later. The new one has never been used sitting in storage. I honestly can't believe all this drill had gone thru and still kicking out nearly full power. I have even used it when mixing mortar for tile work, and you know there is no way in keeping it from splashing all on or in the drill, but it will not stop. Some people can't be pleased, I can't see a reason I would get the best working tool in production, and everyone else's not up to par. I haven't used any Milwaukee tools at work or home that has failed me. I have let the smoke out of plenty dewalts, since they seem to be on most jobs, but when I do. I have the boss replace mine with Milwaukee and it has never been replaced after. Been waiting on a great rotary tool even a corded one for longer use and 28v led light to come to Milwaukee to beat out Hilti 22v led. I would log back in and add photos of all the mortar permanently on the drill. But I don't know if i am able without a log-in.

Excellent power

I have used the V28 tools for several years. All have performed very well, more power when you need it, very reliable. As an example the 1/2" drill will actually drill a 1/2" hole through an inch of steel. The band saw will cut 2" steel roundstock without hesitation. The impact wrench is equal to an air wrench, without having to drag a hose around. The only issue currently at hand is the replacement M28 batteries. with the re-design the tool+battery will no longer fit back in it's case, and the battery life appears to be shorter.
