These Tick trackers are quite simply, the best cheap insurance for those large expensive tools on the jobsite. I epoxied mine since I did not like the use of screws or rivets that could damage internals if you are not careful plus, epoxy does make them not easily removed for theft. You can track, sign out tools, label them as "assigned to" a particular employee on the site and just simply keep track of your tools with random check ins "when in range"...unfortunately, at this time you cannot check in when you want. The range is a bit limiting but it is utilizing Bluetooth signal and a coin cell battery support so 100' is actually pretty good unless your tool is buried in a container adding extra range barrier. I have reported tools as missing and ultimatey have been given prompt email notification, in app notification and a quick pop up notification on my cellular device...so it does work and gives a vicinity map of the location it was detected. This tool is in it's infancy, so I would only expect more customization, range and overall extended use as it become more developed from feedback. It does not stop there, you can use them on any tool, brand generator, work truck...you name it and it fits, you can use it. I have used it on my rotary hammer of another brand, site lights, my portable Milwaukee bandsaw, generator and so on. All-in-all, these little tick tool trackers are an effective way to track tools on the jobsite and further add a visual deterrent to would be thieves if they notice them especially as it becomes more popular and present on the jobsite to protect the tools that ultimately enable you to support your family.
