This trimmer is a hit!!

Milwaukees FUEL string trimmer with quik-lok makes landscaping easy for the professional or DIY homeowner. This string trimmer attachment connects to the M18 FUEL power head and makes quick work of grass and other vegetation. **** whack your yard without the headache of dealing with gas fumes or loud motors running to run your tools. This string trimmer attachment can power to full throttle in under 1 second and has a cutting swath of 14-16. Reloading is super quick and easy. All you need to do is line up the hole where the string comes out of with a hole inside the trimmer head that holds the string, run the string through so you have even lengths on both sides and proceed to twist the trimmer head and it will wind up the line inside the trimmer head. Releasing the line is also done easily by pressing down on the trimmer head while triggering the throttle and it will automatically release the line. I own a 14 acre property in a high fire zone so every year we are required by the city to do brush clearance. I tackle this work a day at a time and it takes me about a week to do the entire property using this string trimmer. I run the trimmer with an 8.0 High Out battery which usually last me about 40-45 minutes going non stop, and since I own several of these batteries, I can **** whack non stop. This tool is heavy as it weighs 12.3 lbs, getting the Milwaukee shoulder strap (49-16-2722) is essential for extended use. With the shoulder strap all the weight of the tools sits on my shoulders so my hands are used for simply hitting the throttle and guiding the strummer with my other hand. For the two years I have used this trimmer I have not encountered any issues or felt like it was lacking in performance. Great investment and addition to my Milwaukee tool collection!!

Hopefully this will last longer than me

Awesome, almost perfect. Especially if someone else was doing the work for me. Im lazy and hate winding string, and the M18 doesnt offer a different trimmer head, so went to HomieDepot and purchased the PIVOTRIM fixed line trimmer head. Finagling with for ten minutes, added some Loctite 242 and weedeating away I went. Now to retrofit the heavy edger attachment

Great tool, IF.......

So, first, I am a Milwaukee fan through and through, however, I try to call it as it is with a product. With that out of the way, I read some reviews that rated the string trimmer poorly and, I bought it anyway....... After dozens of uses and being careful and gentle with the "bumping", the trimmer was used a few times by a 10 year old that was not gentle, and I began to experience problems with the trimmer-head and confirmed the troubles that others had experienced. I thought about replacements, adapting third party stuff, and figured I would take a look.at the unit first. And now the IF, I removed the bump portion of the string-head and re-wound the string and lightly sprayed the whole assembly with some "dry-type" silicone spray lubricant and was careful to assemble the unit correctly. After this, I have had no more trouble and it continues to work flawlessly. I hope this works for y'all. Be well and do good, gbic
