I read several reviews on this saw that said it was a quiet smooth running saw. The reviews we're from 2007 and 2008 but I figured they we're relevant. Unfortunately the motor head I received has a vibration making it difficult to make accurate and smooth cuts. I sent it to MK Diamond but they say it runs fine. I've been cutting tile, stone and concrete for 20 years so, I know what a smooth cut is. I of coarse thought it was the blades as anyone would. I tried 4 different blades and still had the same vibration. I the ran the motor without a blade and carefully put my thumb on the shaft of the motor. It was like a mini hammer drill. Needles to say, I am not happy. Don't buy this saw. I believe they are getting bad motors from China and don't want to admit it.
It pains me to write this review as I have seen good reviews on this saw. The good reviews are what convinced me to buy this saw. The table needs quite a bit of adjustment to get a square cut but that wasn't a big deal as I'm used to doing that with many saws I buy. The blade that comes with it was warped and unusable. Still, I was willing to overlook that since I had several other 7" diamond blades. When I went to make my first cuts the blades we're bouncing off the tile and I assumed that the blades I was using we're also bad. It turns out that the motor shaft has a vibration causing the blades to act like a little hammer drill. Needless to say I, couldn't get a smooth cut no matter what I tried. So, unfortunately I have to send the motor head back to MK. They are not wanting to pay shipping so, I will be paying to have it shipped back to the manufacturer. Not impressed. By the way, I have an MK 170 which is a very small saw I use when I am cutting small tiles and it makes a smoother cut than the 660. Don't waste your time and money on this saw.
